The Matias Tactile Pro 3 traces its roots all the back to Apple keyboards of old, which is phenomenal. As Matias writes on their website “‘the best keyboard Apple ever made’ rises again.” The clean white and translucent look isn’t where the features stop. There are a total of 3 USB 2.0 ports, special characters such as ® ™ € £ ¥ © are imprinted right on to the corner of the laser-etched keys.

Matias claims that they took time to design the keys to be sculpted to your fingertips, so you can easily find the keys you want without slipping to the nearby keys. Keeping the Mac theme going it even has eject and volume control keys above, it even has an old mac translucent styling on its kickstand.

When you put your hands on this keyboard, you are instantly transported to those days of using the iMac G3 with the Extended and Extended II Apple keyboards. It is a completely cathartic experience. Powering the Tactile Pro 3 is ALPS style key-switches, and it really does make the typing experience as clicky and fun as we remember.

Now, PC users, you might be thinking that the presence of option and command keys means that you’re out of luck, nope. Matias has included in its drivers the ability to change the function of them to Windows style Control and Alt. Now there is absolutely no reason for anyone to jump abroad the white keyboard train. In the sea of black keyboard uniformity, it is refreshing to see a manufacturer take a chance, and do it right. The Tactile Pro 3 is simply a keyboard you have to try to believe.
